IRCAI and AWS are excited to announce that applications are now open for the 2025 Compute for Climate Fellowship a global program that funds proof of-concept (PoC) projects for startups using advanced cloud computing and AI to develop breakthrough climate solutions

This global program, launched by the International Research Centre on Artificial Intelligence under the auspices of UNESCO (IRCAI) and AWS, provides cutting-edge AI and cloud computing resources to climate tech startups working on innovative solutions to combat climate change. For 2025, we are expanding the Fellowship significantly— offering up to $4 million in AWS credits to support the build of selected POCs, funding up to 20 startups andproviding expert mentorship from IRCAI and AWS.

• Application deadline: April 6, 2025
• Funding: up to $4 million in AWS credits, $200K in AWS credits per startup
• Eligible Applicants: Climate tech startups (founded in the last 10 years)
• Focus Areas: AI-driven solutions in clean energy, transportation, agriculture, carbon removal, climate risk, and more.
• NEW for 2025: Special category for Indigenous-led climate solutions
